Graded MINT+ 9.5 by PSA/DNA. Hall of Fame outfielder Mickey Mantle has flawlessly signed this snow-white official American League (Brown) ball in blue ball-point pen across the sweet spot. PSA/DNA arrived at a final grade of 9.5 (out of a possible 10) by averaging the grade of the signature ("10") and the grade of the ball ("9"). This is an exceptional Mantle single-signed ball and the highest-graded example we have handled to date. The SMR does not currently record values for half grades, but a Mint 9 Mantle single-signed ball lists for $1,000, while a Gem Mint 10 lists for more than twice that amount: $2,500. Although Mantle single-signed balls are not rare, extremely high grade examples are very much the exception rather than the rule. A Mantle ball is a condition rarity in the highest echelons of grading. This is an ideal ultra high-grade example that would be worthy to represent Mantle in even the world's most advanced Mantle or single-signed Hall of Fame ball collection. LOA from James Spence/JSA.
