Autographed baseball cards, especially those dating to the 1950s, have always been a popular area of collectibles. The offered example is especially desirable: a 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax rookie card (#123), signed by Koufax in blue ink across the front. Koufax has long been an elusive signature among modern legends, and his rookie card will always be one of the great classics of card collecting. The combination is rare and will naturally always have great appeal to collectors. Ideally, Koufax's signature appears just under his portrait image, an area which is lighter in color than much of the card and therefore allows for strong contrast (much better, in fact, than even his preprinted facsimile signature on the card). Encapsulated and graded Mint 9 by PSA/DNA (the grade is for the signature only, not the card). The card displays rounded corners, as well as a few very light creases (none affecting the signature), and is in Good to Very Good condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $300+.
