Official American League (Cronin) ball signed in black ink by George Sisler. Although the strength of the pen strokes varies a little due to the writing instrument used, the signature grades a strong "7" overall and contrasts extremely well against the ball"™s white surface. Sisler is one of only three modern-day players to bat over .400 twice during his career and his lifetime average of .340 ranks sixteenth on the all-time list. Despite the fact that he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1939 and passed away forty-four years later, in 1973, single-signed Sisler balls remain at a premium and are still highly coveted by collectors today. Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,762.50
