LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers alternate jersey dating from the 2005/2006 season. The navy dry-fit jersey is lettered "Cleveland" across the front and features the number "23" on the front and reverse. "James" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in white on gold tackle twill. Situated on the left front tail are a "Reebok" label, a "50" size tag, a "2005-2006" year tag, and a flag tag that reads "+2 Length." An NBA patch is located on the left breast and the Cavaliers' team logo appears on both the reverse (above the name) and front (base of the collar). Original and unaltered, the jersey displays light use. LeBron James was the most heralded high school basketball player in history when the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the number-one overall pick in the 2003 draft. The hype was not unfounded, as James not only won the Rookie of the Year Award, but also proved himself one of the game"™s greatest players. Today, James is widely considered the heir apparent to Michael Jordan and, in time, may even supplant Jordan as the top player in NBA history. James averaged 31.4 points, 7 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in 2005/06, thereby joining Oscar Robinson, Jerry West, and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to average at least 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists per game in a season. Graded A5 by MEARS (no post-1987 jersey can achieve a higher grade than A5 without additional provenance). LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800.
