Pair of approximate size 14.5 Dada Supreme sneakers produced exclusively for use by Karl Malone as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2003-2004, his final NBA season. Malone only played for the Lakers during the 2003-2004 season, thus definitively dating the year of the sneakers. Each white shoe displays a purple and gold trim, and features Malone's uniform number ("11"), in purple, on the heel of each shoe. A purple and white "POW-MIA - You Are Not Forgotten" logo appears on the outer side of each shoe. The interior of each tongue displays a white tag reading "Sample M'S 16.5# - Made in China." As MEARS notes in its accompanying LOA, this style and color shoe was worn by Malone several times during his only season with the Lakers (photo matched from Getty images), including the regular season (11/30/03 and 3/21/04), playoffs (5/11/04) and NBA Finals (6/6/04 and 6/8/04). Despite the fact that he was playing in his nineteenth season, Malone proved that the "Mailman" could still deliver when he had to. The future Hall of Famer averaged 13.2 points per game in helping to lead the Lakers to the NBA Finals, where they were eventually defeated by the Detroit Pistons. The sneakers display light wear throughout. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $293.75
