Addendum in response to an inquiry: The tags inside these shoes identify them as "sample" (only found on shoes of this model made specifically for Michael Jordan). Pair of size 13.5 Nike sneakers produced exclusively for use by Michael Jordan as a member of the Chicago Bulls. The black sneakers, with white trim along the base, feature Jordan's uniform number ("23") in white along the top of each heel. Jordan's red-embroidered logo also appears on the outer side of each shoe. These shoes most likely date to the Bulls 1995-1996 World Championship season, as this particular shoe style was worn by Jordan (photo matched from Getty images) during both the playoffs (against the Knicks and Magic) and NBA Finals (against the Super Sonics). 1995-1996 represented another banner year in Jordan's storied career: Jordan led the NBA in scoring, averaging 30.4 points per game, and capped the season by leading the Bulls to their first of three consecutive World Championships. He also earned his fourth, out of an eventual five, MVP Awards at season's end. Considered the greatest all-around player in NBA history, Jordan was later named Athlete of the Century by ESPN in 2000. The sneakers display light-to-moderate wear throughout including soiling along the bottom white trim. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,175.00
