New York Mets alternate jersey worn by Carlos Beltran in a historic game against the Atlanta Braves on May 24, 2007 at Turner Field. It was in that game, won by the Braves 2-1, that Braves pitcher John Smoltz recorded his 200th career win. Graded A10 by MEARS. The jersey is accompanied by an LOA from Mets-Steiner Collectibles (The Official Collectibles Company of the New York Mets) and an MLB hologram label (#BB497951, affixed to the tail), both of which affirm its game-used status. The black knit jersey is lettered "New York" across the front and features the number "15" on the left breast and reverse. "Beltran" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in tricolor tackle twill (blue/white/orange). A New York Mets team patch appears on the left sleeve. A "Majestic 46" label is situated on the left front tail. Located on the interior left seam are a "2007" year tag and an additional tag reading "+2 inch slv." Original and unaltered, the jersey displays light use. Beltran went 2-3 in the Mets 2-1 loss that night, recording two singles and a base on balls. Game-used jerseys with date-specific provenance are extremely rare, especially those worn by significant players. Beltran is considered one of the best all-around outfielders in baseball today. He finished the 2007 season with 33 home runs, 112 RBI, and a .276 average. In nine full seasons, Beltran has averaged 26 home runs and 96 RBI, while maintaining a lifetime .280 batting average. Graded A10 by MEARS (base grade of 5, plus 5 points for provenance). This is one of three Carlos Beltran jerseys and the only Carlos Beltran Mets jersey listed in the MEARS census. It is also the highest-graded example, with no others graded at this level. This is an exceptional modern-day game jersey, with impeccable provenance, worn by one of the game"™s top stars who is also a potential Hall of Fame candidate. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $705.00
