Manny Ramirez Cleveland Indians alternate jersey dating from the 2000 season. The blue knit jersey is lettered "Indians" across the front and features the number "24" on the reverse. "Ramirez" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All front letters are appliquéd in tricolor tackle twill (red/navy/white); all reverse letters and numerals are appliquéd in red on white tackle twill. A "Smiling Indian" patch appears on the left sleeve. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic" label, a "2000" year tag, a "50" size tag, and a tag reading "+2 inch Extra Length." Original and unaltered, the jersey displays light wear. 2000 represented Ramirez"™s eighth and final season with the Cleveland Indians. He certainly made the most of it, recording a career high .351 average along with 38 home runs and 122 RBI. Considered one of the greatest hitters of the modern era, Rameriz"™s current totals heading into the 2008 season include a .313 lifetime average, 490 home runs (twenty-sixth on the all-time list), and 1,604 RBI (twenty-eighth on the all-time list). Barring injury, he will join baseball"™s legendary 500 Home Run Cub this coming season and will almost certainly finish his career among the top ten in RBI. Graded A5 by MEARS (no post-1987 jersey can achieve a higher grade than A5 without additional provenance). This is one of only two Manny Rameriz Cleveland Indians jerseys listed in the MEARS census; however, the other example is only a batting practice jersey. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $940.00
