1915 World Series program issued at Boston. The attractive cover design features individual portrait photos of the respective owners and managers for both Boston and Philadelphia (Joseph Lanin and William Carrigan for Boston and W. F. Baker and Pat Moran for Philadelphia). The interior pages include team photographs of both Boston and Philadelphia, while a different Red Sox team photo appears on the back cover as part of an advertisement for Stag Brand Sweaters. This classic early World Series program is especially significant as 1915 marked the first World Series appearance by Babe Ruth. Ruth, who is featured in each of the Boston team photos, was limited in the Series to only one plate appearance (he grounded out). The interior scorecard section has not been scored. The twelve-page program (7 x 10.5 inches) displays a 0.75-inch tear along the right border that affects both covers and all of the interior pages (slight paper loss), as well as a very slight vertical center fold. Technically the program is in Very Good condition, but it displays as Excellent. From the Barry Halper Collection. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,292.50
