Collection of three World Series ticket stubs from the 1925 "fall classic" between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Senators. Offered here are ticket stubs from Games 1 and 6, held at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, and Game 5, held at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C. The 1925 World Series, won by Pittsburgh in seven games, was noteworthy in that it marked the final World Series appearance of baseball's famed "Big Train," Walter Johnson. Johnson won Games 1 and 4 for the Senators, but was defeated 9-7 in the seventh and deciding game. Despite the loss, his 2.08 ERA was the top mark for all starting pitchers in the Series. The tickets for Games 1 and 6, at Pittsburgh, measure approximately 4.5 x 2 inches, while the Ticket for Game 5, at Washington, measures 2.25 x 3 inches. The tickets for Games 5 and 6 are in Excellent condition. The ticket for Game 1 is in Very Good condition, displaying light creasing and a roughly torn bottom border. The tickets for Games 1 and 5 have been individually encapsulated by PSA and are labeled "Authentic." All are exceptionally crisp, clean, and, for 1920s World Series tickets, in uncommonly high grade. Total: 3 tickets. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $587.50
