Real estate contract and four associated documents regarding the 1994 sale of Mickey Mantle"™s Dallas, Texas, home of thirty-six years, each signed by Mickey Mantle and his wife, Merlyn. These papers, which contain a total of five Mantle signatures (and are initialed a total of five additional times), represent the sale of the most important home of his life. This was Mantle's home from 1957 to 1993. The six-page standard real estate contract, promulgated by the Texas Real Estate Commission, records the sale of Mantle"™s home at 5730 Watson Circle in Dallas, Texas. The contract (8.5 x 11 inches) is dated 8/2/94 and has been signed in blue ink by both "Mickey C. Mantle" and his wife, Merlyn, as "Sellers." Mantle has also initialed the contract in five separate places. Attached to the contract are both a one-page Property Condition Addendum (8.5 x 11 inches) and a one-page Seller Financing Addendum (8.5 x 11 inches), which are each also signed in blue ink by both Mickey Mantle and Merlyn Mantle. Accompanying, but not attached to, the contract are two additional documents relating to the transaction: One is a notarized one-page affidavit (8.5 x 14 inches) "As to Debts, Liens, Possessions and Taxes" and the other is a one-page "Tax Letter" (8.5 x 11 inches), each signed by both Mickey Mantle (in black felt-tip pen) and Merlyn Mantle (blue ink). All of the documents are also signed by the purchaser, with the exception of the affidavit (signature only required of the seller). All of the Mickey Mantle signatures are flawless and grade "10." The documents all display two notebook filing holes at the top. Aside from some very light creasing in the upper left corner of the contract (and attached forms) from folding the papers back to sign, all are in Excellent condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA.
