Violin signed in black Sharpie by Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras, known collectively today as "The Three Tenors." Each signature contrasts beautifully against the brown surface of the wood and grades "10." The famed trio of operatic tenors first performed together under the title of "The Three Tenors" at a concert on July 7, 1990 at the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome. That debut concert, which was held in conjunction with the World Cup, was the brain child of Italian producer Mario Dradi and featured Zubin Mehta conducting. Originally conceived as a way of raising money for the Friends of José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation, the concert proved so successful with fans that they have reunited numerous times on the international stage including World Cup concerts at Dodger Stadium in 1994, at the Champs de Mars in 1998, and in Yokohama in 2002. The violin is in Excellent condition and serves as a most appropriate venue for the signatures of opera's greatest ambassadors, the legendary "Three Tenors."
