Limited-edition lithograph, created by Burt Silverman, signed by both Mickey Mantle and the artist. Mantle has majestically signed the litho in bold black Sharpie across his image (grading a perfect "10"). The artist has signed and hand-numbered the piece ("164/777") in the lower right. This impressive image is famous as the signature artwork representing Mickey Mantle's Restaurant. This artwork was created specifically to appear on the cover of the menus at Mickey Mantle's Restaurant located on Central Park South. Mantle specially commissioned this artwork from Silverman in 1988 for use at Mantle's. The original painting hung there for many years as well. In addition to using it as the cover image for its menus, the restaurant also controlled the exclusive distribution rights to 777 limited-edition lithographs signed by both Mantle and the artist. This is one of the most attractive and famous images of Mantle ever rendered and it is ideal for display. The litho (25.5 x 37.25 inches) is in Mint condition and has been handsomely matted and framed to total dimensions of 33 x 44 inches. From the Barry Halper Collection. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,057.50
