Stadium seats have long been desired by collectors both for their nostalgic and practical appeal. They have utility; they are the perfect complement to any home baseball museum; and they are equally suited to be displayed outdoors as well. Offered here is a completely refurbished trio of original freestanding seats from Yankee Stadium that are accompanied by the added provenance of having been displayed for many years in Barry Halper's home office. Since Barry specifically intended the unit to be used as intended, the cosmetic improvements were deemed both necessary and appropriate (most original stadium seats are badly weathered). Despite the fact that the seats are freestanding, Barry had them mounted into the wall for extra stability. As a result, each seat back displays a screw hole along the top slat. One of the metal legs displays a break that has been repaired, while another leg was once repaired and has since broken anew (clean split that can most likely be repaired by welding once again). Unfolded, the seats measure 63 x 18 x 30 inches. From the Barry Halper Collection.
Please Note: due to the weight and size of these seats, the shipping charges (depending on where they are sent and their method of shipping) may be substantial.
Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200.
