Diverse collection of early sporting goods catalogs, all of which include baseball equipment. For historians in general, and baseball equipment collectors in particular, these catalogs represent a treasure trove of information regarding the evolution of bats, balls, catching gear, jerseys, etc. 1) 1890 Wright & Ditson catalog. Ninety-six pages, name stamped on the cover, light soiling, 6 x 9 inches. Vg. 2) 1901 Horace Partridge price list for baseball and track supplies. Twelve pages, 3.25 x 5.75 inches. Vg. Accompanied by a handwritten letter (8.5 x 11 inches, Vg-Ex) on Horace Partridge stationery, dated March 22, 1901, from a salesman to the manager of a local team regarding the purchase of baseball uniforms. Included are two vintage flannel uniform samples referred to in the letter. 3) 1908 Buttell Brothers Company catalog (Dubuque, Iowa). Sixty pages, a few very light stains on the cover, 8 x 10.75 inches. Vg-Ex. 4) 1909 Horace Partridge catalog. Forty-eight pages, 4.5 x 7 inches. Vg. 5) 1927 A. G. Spalding & Bros. catalog featuring an illustration of Babe Ruth on the cover. Its great display value makes this one of the most desirable of all Spalding catalogs, 112 pages, an insignificant pencil notation on the front cover and first page, 5.5 x 8 inches. Ex. 6) 1927 D&M catalog. Includes photos of many sports celebrities including Babe Ruth, Rogers Hornsby, Max Carey and Knute Rockne, as well as team photos of the 1926 Yankees and Cardinals. Sixty-four pages, 5.75 x 8.75 inches. Vg-Ex. 7) 1933 D&M baseball uniform and team equipment catalog. Fold-over mailer includes numerous fabric swatches, water stains, 9 x 6 inches.
