Extremely rare fight poster promoting a five-round exhibition bout between Muhammad Ali and Scott Ledoux on Friday, December 2, 1977 at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre. The offered poster, which heralds "A Night At The Theatre With Muhammad Ali," is one of only four examples known to exist and pictures a portrait of Ali in the center. The black-tie event was a charity fundraiser for the Children's Institute For Developmental Disabilities and, as noted on the poster, marked Ali's "First Professional Appearance in Chicago." Ali was the reigning WBA and WBC Heavyweight Champion at the time of this event, having held both titles since 1974. In February of 1978, however, he suffered the greatest upset of his career when he was defeated by Leon Spinks in a fifteen-round split decision. The poster (17 x 22 inches) has a few light surface creases (primarily at edges) and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $232.00
