Trio of rare Jackie Robinson pins: 1) Classic "I'm For Jackie" pinback. This rare and unusual pinback was specifically designed to be worn as a show of support for Jackie Robinson by dedicated fans. In Near Mint condition. 2) This extremely rare circa 1947 Jackie Robinson PM10 stadium pinback featuring Jackie Robinson looking to the right is noteworthy not just for its great rarity, but because in the photograph used he is pictured wearing a Montreal Royals uniform. Robinson, of course, was called up to the Dodgers from Montreal, suggesting that this PM10 stadium pin may have been issued very early in 1947. This is one of the rarest of all Jackie Robinson stadium pins. In Near Mint condition. 3) This Jackie Robinson stadium pin featuring a head-and-shoulders portrait dates from Robinson's earliest years with the Dodgers. In this photograph Robinson is standing in front of the Dodgers dugout, and the background has been cropped out. This pin was issued with and without the dugout background. The pin has a few pinpoint foxing marks along the perimeter, of no consequence but which are mentioned for the sake of accuracy, and unusually heavy oxidation on the reverse, which of course does not affect the otherwise Excellent appearance of the front. This is a particularly scarce and desirable Jackie Robinson pin. Aside from Babe Ruth, perhaps no player has ever been the subject of more pins (and more interest from pin collectors) than Jackie Robinson. Diameter: each 1.75 inches. This lot presents three very significant Jackie Robinson celluloids worthy of any Jackie Robinson or advanced pinback collection. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,624.00
