Collection of eighteen 1916 M101-4 cards, comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers and high demand cards, including fifteen Hall of Famers (including Cobb), two future Black Sox (Cicotte and Gandil), and Ray Chapman. This series was issued both with blank backs and with advertising on reverses. Several different advertising backs are represented in this collection (back is blank unless noted): #9 Frank Baker (Vg-Ex), 13 Bender (Vg), 17 M. Brown (Vg-Ex), 28 Carey (Vg-Ex), 30 Ray Chapman (Ex-Mt, Ware's back), 32 Cicotte (Ex-Mt, Globe back), 34 E. Collins (Ex), 38 Ty Cobb (beautiful looking card, front is solid Ex, back has glue stains and a few remnants of scrapbook paper on blank reverse), 41 Crawford (Vg-Ex), 54 Evers (Vg-Ex), 56 Faber (Vg-Ex/Ex), 64 Gandil (Ex, Ware's back), 86 M. Huggins (Vg-Ex), 113 Marquard (Vg-Ex, Weil Baking), 144 W. Robinson (Vg/Vg-Ex), 146 Rousch (Vg-Ex, Weil Baking), 174 Tinker (Vg/Vg-Ex, Weil Baking), 184 Walsh (Vg-Ex, Weil Baking). Very clean, impressive group, almost all Hall of Famers, with cards downgraded from Ex exclusively due to corner wear, no creases with the exception of a single light crease on #13 Bender.
