Collection of 252 different (of 323 total issued) original Saturday Evening Post magazines featuring Norman Rockwell covers. This is George Taylor's second Rockwell Saturday Evening Post run, a "work-in-progess" representing 78% of all Rockwell Post covers, and including most key early issues. Some collectors can never get enough of a good thing! All but a few are complete magazines (approximately ten are represented by covers only). This is an outstanding start toward a complete collection of Rockwell Post covers. A breakdown of the collection by era follows: 1916-1919 (18 issues), 1920-1929 (50 issues), 1930-1939 (54 issues), 1940-1949 (70 issues), 1950-59 (44 issues), and 1960-1963 (16 issues). According to Saturday Evening Post, 1899-1969 Covers: The Price and Identification Guide by Dennis C. Jackson, published in 2000, the 252 magazines in this collection list for a total of $19,164 in Excellent condition. The collection as a whole technically ranges in grade from Very Good to Excellent condition. Included are a few in Good condition. All are extremely attractive, especially for complete magazines of this era, and ideal for display. The overall condition, of course, is slightly lesser than Mr. Taylor's set number one, as should be expected, though far superior to what is normally found for early Saturday Evening Post issues. Rockwell's first 1916 Post cover issue is in Very Good to Excellent condition. Total 252 magazines. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$7,500. SOLD FOR
