Signature model C271 exhibits considerable use including original tape on the handle, cleat and heavy ball marks on the barrel. There is a heavy coat of pine tar applied to the uncracked handle. Several paint chips are around the black-lacquer barrel. Griffey has appeared in eleven All-Star Games and earned ten Gold Gloves. His best season came with the Seattle Mariners in 1997, when he batted .304 with 56 home runs, and 147 RBIs. In 1998 he followed up with another 56 home runs, and 146 RBIs. During the 2004 season he became a member of the exclusive "500 HR Club," virtually guaranteeing him to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. This Griffey bat dates from the finest seasons of his career.
