H&B 125 Louisville Slugger block letter name model S2â„¢ can be dated precisely to 1973, Mays' final season with the New York Mets. Mays has signed the bat "To Bobby, Best Wishes, Willie Mays" ("9") in black sharpie, on the back of the barrel directly opposite the labeling, between the center brand and barrel stampings. The vintage player number "24" appears in black marker on both the knob end and the barrel end. This bat was consigned directly from its original recipient, a friend of Mays who was personally presented this bat as a gift. The bat exhibits light game use with pine tar remnants on the front and back of the barrel. An outstanding signed Mays bat, which can be traced to a very specific and very significant year in his glorious career. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A6.
