In 1993, Pat Hentgen's 19-9 record played a significant role in helping to propel the Toronto Blue Jays to the World Series. On October 19, 1993, after a 72 minute rain delay, Hentgen and the Blue Jays took the field against the Phillies, and led the Blue Jays to a 10-3 victory in Game 3 of the World Series. Hentgen pitched six innings, giving up 1 run and striking out 6 batters to get the win. The offered jersey was worn during that day, and is accompanied by a COA from the Blue Jays team attesting to its authenticity. The Blue Jays went on to win the series in six games. In the collar is the "Wilson" manufacturers' label (which has faded from washing) with size "46," below which appears the grey identifying label reading "41 93 1" in blue embroidered stitching. These numbers denote the player number, year, and set number, respectively. "Toronto" appears across the front of the jersey, directly above the Blue Jays emblem on the left breast. The back of the jersey has the player name "Hentgen" in blue tackle twill above the player number "41" in blue/white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "1993 World Series" patch. A numbered hologram sticker (which corresponds with the COA) is affixed beneath the inside labels, and was added by the Blue Jays organization to document the authenticity of the jersey. The jersey shows Excellent game use and has no alterations. LOA from Dave Bushing and Dan Knoll/SCD Authentic. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $920.00
