Original wire photo (7 x 9 inch) featuring Roy Campanella in uniform conversing with Hall of Fame sportswriter Jack Lang, is spectacularly inscribed and signed ("9") "'To Jack' Best Wishes Roy Campanella" in blue ink. The pre-accident signature is virtually flawless, with only the slightest smudging to the bottom portions of the "Y" and "P" in Campy's name keeping it from grading a perfect "10." The photo has some editing marks in blue along the top and bottom borders. Some very light creasing is evident primarily in the borders and a slight chip is missing in the bottom border. The reverse of the photo has some light toning along the edges and a 1987 newspaper clipping is attached, dating the origin of this photo as 1954. Overall in Very Good to Excellent condition. Pre-accident signed Campanella photos are rare. A top-quality original photograph signed by Campanella, originating from the personal collection of Jack Lang.
