Postwar Baseball - 1960s Cards
Stunning ultra high-grade complete set of the classic 1969 Topps Super Baseball set. This 66 card test set was issued on an extremely limited test basis, and has withstood the test of time as one of the most classic and highly prized sets of the era. Offered is a spectacularly high grade complete set, with 19 of the key cards graded and encapsulated by PSA (including Mantle's last Topps card). The 19 PSA graded cards include four PSA Gem Mint 10s, fourteen PSA Mint 9s, and one PSA NM-MT 8. The grades are as follows: #2 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt-Mt), #3 B. Robinson (PSA MINT 9), #5 Yaz (PSA MINT 9), #10 Aparicio (PSA MINT 9), #19 Killebrew (Nr/Mt-Mt), #20 Oliva (PSA MINT 9), #24 Mantle (PSA MINT 9), #25 Stottlemyre (PSA GEM MT 10), #28 Jackson (PSA MINT 9), #34 Aaron (PSA MINT 9), #35 Alou (PSA GEM MT 10), #36 Torre (PSA GEM MT 10), #37 Jenkins (PSA MINT 9), #38 Santo (PSA MINT 9), #39 Williams (Nr/Mt-Mt), #41 Rose (PSA MINT 9), #42 Morgan (PSA MINT 9), #46 Drysdale (Nr/Mt), #52 Seaver (PSA NM-MT 8), #53 Allen (PSA GEM MT 10), #58 Clemente (PSA MINT 9), #59 Flood (PSA MINT 9), #60 Gibson (PSA MINT 9), #64 Marichal (Nr/Mt-Mt), #65 Mays (Nr/Mt-Mt), and #66 McCovey (Nr/Mt). The balance of the set similarly grades Nr/Mt-Mt, with many Mint examples. This is a simply extraordinary complete set of this extremely rare and highly desirable Topps issue. The SMR value for 15 of the 19 PSA graded cards alone is $8,375 (we have not included the 4 PSA Gem Mt 10 graded cards, because the SMR does not list a value for Gem Mt 10s. And this $8,375 figure, of course, also does not include the 47 cards in the set which have not yet been graded by PSA). Tremendous break value. Total 66 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000. SOLD FOR $8,625.00
