Extremely early original news photo capturing Wilt Chamberlain as a junior at Overbrook High School in 1953. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photo by PSA/DNA. Chamberlain is pictured with a ball in hand held above his head while two teammates, one atop another's shoulders, try to defend him. An "International News Photos" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper caption still attached. According to the caption, Chamberlain was in his junior season at Overbrook high school, and "is regarded as a potential college star with many offers." The photo (7-1/8 x 9 inches) has moderate creasing (mostly in the lower-left quadrant) and a chip missing from the bottom border. In Good condition overall. Reserve $1,000.
