10K-gold ring awarded to a member of Florida State's 1997 football team following the school's 31-14 victory over Ohio State in the 1998 Sugar Bowl. The design features the letters "FSU" on the front, which is adorned with 79 small cubic zirconium stones. One shank reads "Champions - 1997 - ACC - VI - 47-1." The opposite shank is lettered "Smith - Sugar Bowl Champs - FSU-31 OSU-14 - 11th Straight Yr Top 4 Ranking." The engraving on the interior band reads "Jostens 10K." While we do not know the full name of the recipient of this ring, research indicates that there were two players named Smith on the 1997 Florida State roster: Shevin Smith, a defensive back, and Larry Smith, a defensive lineman.
