Rare circa 1963 Beatles retail advertising display for Vox sound equipment. The colorful display features large illustrated portrait images of each band member, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, as well as Vox amplifier. The text reads "The Beatles Feature Vox." The Vox brand was owned by Jennings Musical Industries Limited, whose name appears in print along the base of the display. The company's most famous product was the Vox AC30 amplifier, which was used by The Beatles on their first two albums released in 1963. This is one of only few examples of this retail sign we have ever seen and the first we have offered. The sign (12.25 x 15.25 inches), produced on heavy cardboard stock, is complete with its original easel back. Moderate wear is evident along the edges, including minor creases and small tears, but the central image area remains clean and bright. In Excellent condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
